Opening Keynote Speaker:
Daan Roosegaarde
Dutch artist and innovator Daan Roosegaarde is a creative thinker and maker of social designs which explore the relation between people, technology and space. Roosegaarde has been driven by nature’s gifts such as light emitting fireflies and jellyfishes since an early age. His fascination for nature and technology is reflected in his iconic designs such as Smart Highway (roads which charge from sunlight and glow at night), Waterlicht (a virtual flood) and Smog Free Project (the largest outdoor air purifier in the world which make jewelry from smog.)
Roosegaarde has won the London Design Innovation Medal, the INDEX Design Award, the World Technology Award, two Dutch Design Awards, the Charlotte Köhler Award, and China's Most Successful Design Award. He exhibited at the Design Museum in London, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Tate Modern, Tokyo National Museum, Le Musée des Arts Décoratifs Paris, Victoria & Albert Museum, and various public spaces in Europe and Asia. Selected by Forbes and Good 100 as a creative change maker, Daan Roosegaarde shares his visionary ideas frequently at conferences across the world such as TED and Design Indaba.

Kevin Jackson
A long-standing disruptor and thought-leader, Kevin has been an influential player with some of the world’s most respected marketing services groups, including Interpublic, Grey, Saatchi, and then in the live space with Jack Morton and George P Johnson. Working with a vast range of brands, from Adidas to Zumba, and everything in between he has explored every discipline within the marketing mix. Kevin’s involvement in TIDE will ensure a fast-paced and interactive day.

Jan-Erik Baars
Head of Design Management, University of Applied Science
Currently Jan-Erik Baars heads the Design Management program at the University of Applied Science in Lucerne, Switzerland. He also is a consultant, supporting organizations to improve effective use of design. Before founding his consulting business in 2011, he was at Deutsche Telekom and over 19 years with Philips. His work has won various design awards, like the Rotterdam Design Award and the IF-award in Gold.
Pedro Gadanho
Director, MAAT
Pedro Gadanho is a curator, a writer and an architect. He is the Director of MAAT, the new Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology in Lisbon. Previously he was a curator of contemporary architecture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Gadanho holds an MA in art and architecture and PhD in architecture and mass media. He is the author of Arquitetura em Público, a recipient of the FAD Prize for Thought and Criticism in 2012.

Julien is an award-winning creative director and architect, with more than 15 years of international experience in the experiential marketing industry. First based in France, then Australia, the U.S. and now Germany, he has worked with clients that include Nike, Intel, Novartis, BMW, Honda, GM, and other major companies across most industries. His expertise and design thinking in experience design, permanent architecture, exhibits, interactive media, and scenography have fueled many significant corporate events and consumer experiences.
