A REVIEW OF 2019
As 2019 comes to its end, it is time to look back at the year and say "Thank You" to all of you who contribute to make our AV community so successful, vibrant and a fun workplace. A special "Thank You" goes out to all our volunteers who play an important part of what makes this association the world’s largest AV community hub. Dedicated AV professionals across Asia-Pacific have shared their expertise as instructors in AVIXA’s education program, contributed hours of their time in councils and advisory groups, such as the AVIXA™ Women’s Council or the Advisory Groups in their respective country. If you are interested to get involved in growing the AV community, take a look at our volunteer opportunities.

Keen AV Professionals Upskill at AVIXA Workshops
When major business projects slow down by the end of the year, professional development to upskill staff becomes a primary focus in preparation for the following year. In Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, more than 87 AV professionals attended AVIXA one-day training sessions to brush up AV core knowledge. Attendees of our Visual Essentials Workshops were keen students, as they explored hands-on skills in visual technologies, while participants of AVIXA Certification Workshops used the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of real-world AV activities and learn the basics of how to develop AV solutions.
As the year is coming to its close, AV professionals in India and Asia gathered at several AVIXA workshops from New Delhi and Chennai to Singapore to learn about essential of AV technology or get hands-on training in preparation for certification exams. Full classes and high demand led to AVIXA offering an additional Certification Workshop in Chennai for those who could not get into the initially scheduled class. Besides having seasoned volunteer instructors T.S. Gopalakrishnan, CTS-D, CTS-I, and Rajit Singh, CTS-D, CTS-I, leading the workshops, AVIXA also welcomed two new co-instructors — Sonali Singh, CTS, Manojkumar Soni, CTS, and Shiji Vargese, CTS.

Get details of the 2019 findings:
- Economic growth continues, with 2.7 percent GDP increase in both 2019 and 2020.
- Construction will contribute to global growth, with nonresidential construction spending projected to increase 3.1 percent per year from 2018 to 2023.
- The Retail vertical market skews heavily toward operational expenditures as stores prefer to constantly refresh rather than close and undergo a major capital expenditure product. What’s true for Retail may not be true for Education or Hospitality though, so be sure to assess each vertical individually.
