ITSM for the AV World: Audio Visual Service Management Virtual Classroom
Audio Visual Service Management (AVSM) is AVIXA’s educational program to invigorate AV with established IT Service Management principles, and go beyond these for pragmatism and practicality as those IT principles are adopted to the world of AV. It consists of two courses, aimed at different stages to advance your AV career. Transitioning from Audio Visual Technician to Manager (formerly known as ‘Aspiring Manager Certificate’) propels you from technician to manager, helping aspiring managers make the massive philosophical leap, and to prepare for the shift in perspective from focused technical diagnosis to leading a specialist workgroup. The mental processes you so skillfully deployed as a technician and the drivers that called for them are not the same as those you will need as manager. These are the vital first steps for every career-advancing AV technician. We will study and understand those differences and cement them into your detailed, daily, managerial To-Do list.

Delivery Principles
This hybrid course delivers a mix of personal study and a program of virtual tutorials. The materials and interactions are designed and led by Noel Bruton, a renowned management consultant, experienced practitioner and bestselling author in IT and tech support management. Note that the tutorials are not teaching sessions. In a tutorial, candidates will have their understanding of the material checked and quizzed on their knowledge.
