During our recent D=SIGN Power Hour webinar, our panel discussed the idea of social as currency and transforming social media to social selling on premise when thinking about your next digital signage project with moderator Bryan Meszaros with OpenEye Global. Bryan was joined by Parrish Chapman of Samsung, Alicia Esposito of Retail TouchPoints, and Beth Warren of Creative Realities. Here were some key takeaways from the conversation:

  • The role that social media plays in our day to day, even if we're not intending to make a purchase. 88% of shoppers specifically look for photos and videos provided by other consumers before committing to a purchase.
  • What social does is it allows the store to become a place that is Community centric. Consumers get the experience of Community, and how people think and feel about what's being offered in that particular venue.
  • ROI is important to call out to those whose you know where measurement is absolutely vital – showing benefits of incorporating social media interaction within the brand.
