During our recent Content Distribution and Media Power Hour webinar, our panel discussed production optimization with moderator Deborah Jones of the Queen Elizabeth II Centre. We were joined by Kevin Chater and James Mead of BlackRock, Michele Dickson of BlueJeans by Verizon, Donald Guzauckas, Jr. of HB Live and Jesse Miller of Midtown Video. Here were some key takeaways:

  • Something is bound to go wrong on event day, so lots of prep and planning ahead of time with contingency plans put into place is key for success
  • Learn by watching what the audience is watching to determine what works and what doesn’t
  • You’ll face both technical challenges and human challenges particularly with virtual or hybrid events, so good communication with all parties is vital
