MUMBAI — 29 SEPTEMBER, 2016 — The InfoComm India 2016 Exhibition and Summit, which was held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre 12-14 Sept., 2016, closed its three-day run with record numbers of visitors, exhibitors and summit delegates for the fourth consecutive year. Visitors, exhibitors and stakeholders were of one accord in commending the organiser for delivering not only another superbly-managed show but also setting a highly visible stage for exhibitors to debut new innovative products and new-to-India solutions as well as platforms for robust discussions on the promise of smart solutions to drive India’s cities into the digital future.

The Exhibition

The 4th edition of InfoComm India Exhibition saw the number of trade and end-user visitors increasing to 7,036, up 8 percent from the previous year. The success of the show further enhanced its rapidly growing reputation as India’s largest showcase of pro-AV and information communication technology (ICT) solutions. Close to 200 exhibitors from 14 countries, including more than 25 first-time exhibitors, participated in the show, offering a diverse range of solutions, from browser-based collaboration platforms to line array-point source loudspeakers. Over 65 of the exhibitors’ solutions made their debut in the Indian market at InfoComm India 2016.

"I have been visiting this show for the past four years. Over the years, I have seen the same international standards of the show being maintained without any compromise. Coming to InfoComm India gives me the opportunity to evaluate a huge variety of products, from videowalls to lighting and projection systems," said show visitor Amol Waradkar, IT Project Manager, Accenture, a consulting company that develops and implements technology solutions to raise clients' productivity and efficiency.

Harish A K, Deputy General Manager of Epson, commended the show for attracting quality visitors. "InfoComm India is the only credible show for this industry, and the only place where system integrators show up in such good numbers. This is a wonderful networking platform where consultants, manufacturers as well as integrators can come and discuss future business possibilities. InfoComm India enhances business opportunities." Epson, a purveyor of projectors that use 3LCD technology to display bright, natural, high-quality pictures, was an exhibitor at InfoComm India 2016.

Another exhibiting company at this year’s show was Ahuja Radios, a manufacturer and exporter of public address systems, amplifiers, mixers, speaker systems and more. Sonu Khurana, the company's Deputy General Manager, shared, "This is our first year as an exhibitor at InfoComm India. The show has provided us with an excellent platform to change perceptions about the brand AHUJA. Before, many thought that core area of strength for Ahuja Radios was public address systems only; but products showcased here like wireless conference systems, intelligent paging solutions and a host of other installation products has changed the perception of one and all."

"We are extremely pleased with the success of this year’s edition of InfoComm India," said Richard Tan, Executive Director of InfoCommAsia. "Participants' experiences were enriched by the insightful demonstrations and presentations on how smart technologies are emerging to spawn limitless possibilities for the future of the AV industry and the impact of pro-AV and ICT on the sustainability of businesses."

The Summit

Over the three days of the Summit, a total of 38 free-to-attend learning sessions enthralled 2,128 delegates with opportunities to engage in spirited discussions and exchange of ideas with professionals of diverse expertise. Highlights included the rare privilege to learn from such industry luminaries as Mr. Nirup Jayanth, Head Business Development at Jurong Consultants (India) Pvt. Ltd.; Dr. Madan M Oberoi, Director, Cybercrime Directorate, Interpol Global Complex for Innovation; and Mr. Gary Hall, Strategy, Planning & Operations, U.S. Federal, Cisco Systems and President-Elect of InfoComm International. Respectively, they spoke on smart cities; on cybercrime takedowns, crucial in securing smart cities and ensuring confidence in how the Internet of Things works; and on how the Internet of Things is permeating and changing everything, and playing a critical role in developing smart cities.

The region's inaugural Women of InfoComm Network (WIN) event was launched at InfoComm India 2016. It was the first such event dedicated to promoting leadership and providing opportunities for the advancement of Indian female executives in the pro-AV and ICT industries. The WIN serves to provide an ecosystem geared to supporting and empowering women who are working in the technology and AV sectors.

"InfoComm India is an excellent show. The seminars help to impart the right skills to industry professionals. InfoComm India is definitely growing in the right direction!" says Summit attendee Parag Vadodaria, CEO, Zio Technologies, which purveys turnkey solutions from consulting to installation and maintenance of AV systems for various industries.

"As India embarks on its urbanization and modernisation path by building smart cities and harnessing digital technologies, we will have to continuously innovate to ensure that InfoComm India will remain relevant and can contribute to India’s development,” said Richard Tan. “To this end, we will continue to engage industry leaders, government planners and researchers to tap their knowledge and expertise, and we will use the insights gained to improve and enhance InfoComm India as an effective platform to facilitate economic development."
