Purpose
The AVIXA Oceania Educator of the Year Award highlights important contributions made by an individual to the professional development, education and training of the AV industry. These contributions have impacted audiences worldwide. The Educator of the Year Award is presented for outstanding achievement in AV education for that particular year.
Programme Summary
AVIXA will honour an AV educator who has distinguished himself/herself within the AV industry or within allied industries by promoting AV education of AV professionals or education within allied industries on AV topics and AV value.
Award
The award will be given at Integrate 2018 in Sydney. Award winner(s) or appropriate representative of the winning company/individual will attend and be recognised in front of a prestigious group of AV professionals. The award includes a plaque to be presented at Integrate 2018.
Eligibility
Individual must be an AVIXA member, individual must have a CTS, individual must have taught or developed an AVIXA program, individual may have taught AV courses beyond AVIXA’s, individual may have published industry training/education books, manuals, articles or videos. Contributions must have been made between June 2017 – June 2018. The nominee cannot have already won this award in the past.
Criteria for Judging
Nominations will be judged solely on the content provided on the award application. AVIXA will honour an AV educator on an annual basis who has distinguished himself/herself within the AV industry or within allied industries by promoting AV education of AV professionals or education within allied industries on AV topics and AV value. Contributions must have been made between June 2017 – June 2018. Criteria for judging will be based on measurable and documented activities as defined in the award eligibility. The Awards Committee reserves the right to withdraw an award for a given year if there are not sufficient nominations to determine an appropriate winner.
Award Submission Requirements
The nominator must fill out the following online nomination form. Not all questions may apply. 250-500 word answers are appropriate, but longer answers are acceptable. Include specific examples of the nominee's contributions to education, advancement of AV professionals or technologies and value in allied industries, as well as the nominee’s bio, photo and relevant articles.
Applications must be received by Saturday, 30 June 2018. Upon receipt, applications become the property of AVIXA. Applications will not be returned to applicants. Late applications will not be accepted.
