CTS 2 can help ease your nerves and boost your confidence before you take the CTS® exam. This course is a natural continuation of CTS 1; through this course, you will deepen your understanding of the core competencies tested in the CTS exam. This will continue and expand the knowledge base learned in CTS 1 by adding new focus areas and applying learned skills and deepening understanding of key concepts.

This is a 24-hour course that may be taught virtually or in person. Course objectives include:

Comprehend AV industry standards and their application in ensuring quality and reliability.
Explore benefits and resources of AVIXA membership for professional growth and engagement.
Develop proficiency in mathematical tools such as ratios, logarithmic functions, and scientific calculators.
Gain insight into technical concepts relevant to AV projects and systems.
Master skills in customer information gathering, needs analysis, site survey, and program report creation.
Expertise in interpreting architectural drawings and understanding design phases in AV projects.
Learn about sound alteration, projection system factors, screen selection, and aspect ratio knowledge.
Understand project management principles and their application in AV projects.
Acquire skills in AV system installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
Develop proficiency in troubleshooting techniques and logical problem-solving approaches for AV systems.
Someone who has taken CTS 1 and 2 might be prepared to sit the exam, but it is strongly recommended people take Quick Prep: Certification Overview and Study Drills.

Jeremy Caldera, CTS-D, CTS-I is an expert in the professional audiovisual industry with over 25 years of experience. Currently Executive Vice President at Pearl Technology, Caldera specializes in the planning and design of technology systems, organizational management, and the development of corporate standards and business growth strategies. Caldera sat on the academic advisory board for the Audio Arts & Acoustics Department of Columbia College Chicago, is the former AVIXA CTS certification program chair, 2015 AVIXA Young AV Professional, 2016 AVIXA Educator of the Year, SCN 2021 AV Hall of Fame inductee, and one of Commercial Integrator’s AV Living Legends. Global Director of Education, Aurora Multimedia
Mr. Charles “Chuck” Espinoza is an AV industry leader with 34+ years of experience and a 13-year U.S. Marine Corps background. Now Global Director of Education at Aurora Multimedia, he has held numerous technical and leadership roles, trained hundreds of professionals, and contributed extensively to AVIXA certifications and standards. In 2018, Mr. Espinoza was inducted into the SCN 2018 Hall of Fame. Mr. Espinoza has spearheaded the AVIXA Education Department for both the 2020 and 2021 years “AV Nations Readers’ Choice Award for Best AV Education”, and was voted “Favorite Person in the AV Industry” in the rAVe Readers’ Choice Awards in 2022.
