Title:Energy Management for Audiovisual Systems
 Document Number:AVIXA S601.01:201X
 Type of Standard:Performance
 Status:In Development
Description:As previously published, this standard defines and prescribes processes and requirements for ongoing power-consumption management of the audiovisual (AV) system. The Standard identifies requirements for the control and continuous monitoring of electrical power for audiovisual systems, whereby power is conserved whenever possible and components operate at the lowest power-consuming state possible without compromise to the system’s performance for the needs of the user. Audiovisual systems in conformance with the Standard will meet the defined requirements for automation, measurement, analysis, and training.

AVIXA's consensus standards development process is accredited by ANSI, a private, non-profit organization that administers and coordinates the U.S. voluntary standardization and conformity assessment systems. ANSI is the sole U.S. representative of the two major non-treaty international standards organizations, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and, via the U.S. National Committee (USNC), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Accreditation by ANSI signifies that the procedures used by AVIXA in connection with the development of American National Standards meet the Institute's essential requirements for openness, balance, consensus, right to appeal, and due process.
