In many Countries, audio recording is not permitted, but users or system administrators still need to monitor areas while maintaining privacy for audio monitoring. Some network-based cameras are embedded with acoustic sensors instead of a microphone, allowing audio analytics in the camera to scan and measure sound waves but not stream or store audio.
