FAIRFAX, VA – July 15, 2025 – AVIXA has strengthened its Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) programme pathway with a raft of updates to its online and in-person training content. A series of redesigned, refined, and rebranded courses now make up the enhanced offering, delivering clear progression for AV professionals. The updates reflect ongoing changes in the industry as well as enhancing accessibility to a broader range of entry points into the world of Pro AV. The CTS program is the leading professional credential in pro AV, with more than 14,800 CTS holders worldwide demonstrating a valued industry skill set.

There are multiple entry points into the industry, and these subtle refinements aim to better serve that variation, giving AV professionals the flexibility to pick and choose what they need. The revised CTS Prep Pathway is as follows:

• Quick Start: Onboarding the AV industry – An engaging online course providing an introduction into pro AV.
• CTS 1: AV Technology (Previously Essentials of AV Technology) – Providing foundational knowledge required for aspiring AV professionals; required to progress to CTS 2: Applied AV and AV Project Process. Training is available online or in-person. 
• AV Math – Optional training to increase confidence and master common AV calculations ahead of the CTS exam. Training is available online.
• CTS 2: Applied AV and AV Project Process (Previously CTS Prep) – Equipping AV professionals with the information to take the CTS exam. Training is available online or in-person
• CTS Quick Prep – An optional in-person session that provides extra exam drills and practice
• CTS Exam

A strengthened online sample question pool of 200 will further support AV professionals in preparation for their CTS exam. The CTS Prep Pathway is available to purchase in one package, while AVIXA Elite Members will continue to enjoy comprehensive access to all courses in the pathway. 

For further study, successful CTS holders will be able to continue their journey with the CTS-I (installation) and CTS-D (design) to demonstrate specialized knowledge.
