AV Design 3: Applied Design Online

Each module in Applied Design introduces you to the theory behind an AV design, and from time to time provide you with opportunities to practice calculations and evaluate the principles that lead to an effective AV design.

Course Description

Learn at your own pace in this online course (estimated 10 hours to complete). Students will have an opportunity to test their knowledge, download copies of several AVIXA standards, and take away helpful job aids for immediate use at work.

The course covers the following:

  • Determine bandwidth requirements for digital audio and video signals

  • Recommend appropriate video signal types based on their capabilities and limitations

  • Implement a successful EDID strategy, while implementing appropriate digital rights management

  • Select appropriate audio signal processing for a specific program need

  • Establish proper gain structure and equalization of an audio signal chain from input to output

  • Choose which elements of human-centered design are necessary for a given control interface

  • Successfully route various audiovisual systems on a network

  • Plan a multicast streaming distribution on a network

  • Prepare a security plan for AV systems

Prerequisites:

Students are strongly encouraged to complete:

  • AV Math for Design Online

  • AV Design Level 1: Environment Online

  • AV Design Level 2: Infrastructure Online
