Are you passionate about the AV industry and eager to share your knowledge with others? AVIXA is looking for experienced professionals to join our network of instructors and help educate the next generation of AV specialists. As an external instructor, you’ll have opportunities to teach AVIXA courses on an as-needed basis.

Requirements

Certifications: You must hold AVIXA certifications such as CTS, CTS-D, and/or CTS-I.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in the AV industry is required.
Expertise: A solid background in specific CTS content areas is essential.
Teaching & Presentation Skills: Prior experience teaching or presenting is highly valuable. However, if you haven’t formally taught before, you should be comfortable with public speaking and confident in leading and engaging a group, and willing to develop your instructional skills.
Virtual & In-Person Training: Instructors should have experience delivering training in both virtual and in-person formats—or at least be adaptable to managing the differences between these teaching methods.

How to Join Our Instructor Network

1. Observe Classes

Watch recordings of previous AVIXA courses to understand our teaching style and content delivery.

2. Interview

Meet with a current instructor to assess your development needs and address any questions.

3. Mentorship

Receive guidance to refine your instructional approach.

4. Class Participation

Sit in on live courses for firsthand experience.

5. Co-Teach

Partner with an experienced instructor before leading your own class.

This process ensures that our instructors are both knowledgeable and effective educators.
