Few campuses get to standardize around one space type or one platform. A single institution may manage lecture halls, conference rooms, satellite campuses and innovation spaces at once — each with its own stakeholders and expectations. In this panel, higher ed AV and IT leaders from UC Berkeley and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences share how they approach standardization across very different environments. Attendees will learn how to separate campus-wide requirements from department-specific needs, decide what a standard should hold consistent and plan for supporting standardized spaces over time. The discussion will draw on real-world experience, including what to do when a department or space type insists it's different.
Join this November webinar to learn how to:
1. Conduct a needs analysis that distinguishes campus-wide requirements from department-specific needs before setting an AV standard.
2. Define the scope of a campus AV standard, including what stays consistent across room types and where flexibility makes sense.
3. Plan how to support standardized spaces over time, including training users at every skill level, from faculty to support staff.
