How do you build a career in AV when there's no single way in?

The AVIXA Women's Councils UK presents

Iffat Chaudhry will host a live conversation on education and career progression in AV with:

  • Catherine Sharman CTS, AV Operations Manager, King's College London

  • Rob Hyde, Principal Service Manager (Learning and Event Technology), University of Bath

  • Rachel Hunt, Navigate AV

Catherine and Rob lead AV teams at two of the UK's top universities, and they'll share where their work on the DELTA framework is heading and what it could mean for how AV skills are developed.

Rachel took one of the more unexpected routes into the industry. She began her career working on aircraft in the Royal Air Force before becoming an Engineering Officer, then moved into AV as marketing director at Unicol and sat on the BSI steering committee behind BS 8590, the code of practice for installing AV equipment. Today she leads Navigate AV, a not-for-profit and the UK's first coordinated careers framework for our sector. It puts AV in front of young people, veterans and career changers, and feeds prepared talent back to employers.

From first spark of interest to building a career, this panel covers the lot.

We'll talk about the routes in, the skills that make a difference and how to keep progressing once you're here. Then it's over to you for questions.
