Q. What is the purpose of the AVIXA APEx Program?
A. The AVIXA AV Provider of Excellence program is a recognition credential earned by integration companies and AV design consulting firms that have demonstrated excellence in training their team, world-class service to customers and upholding industry standards.
Q. My company is not a member of AVIXA? Can we be part of the AVIXA APEx program?
A. This designation is for AVIXA members only. This is just one of the many benefits of membership. Review and join today!
Q. What is the annual cost of becoming an APEx Company?
A. $500 for developed countries. $250 for developing countries.
Q. Is earning the APEx credential a one-time process?
A. The APEx designation must be renewed annually, but the process is less cumbersome. You will need to reaffirm the Core Values document, provide two positive customer survey responses and pay the renewal fee.
Q. What constitutes a small, medium or large company?
A. For the purposes of this program, small companies have 24 or fewer employees. Medium companies have between 25 and 99 employees. Large companies have 100 employees or more.
Q. Why are there different requirements for companies based on size?
A. While there are certain principles all participating companies should have to adhere to, AVIXA wants to ensure that companies of all sizes are incentivized to pursue quality initiatives.
Because different companies have different ways of categorizing employees, it is most relevant to note the overall size of the company when considering requirements.
Q. Are there different APEx levels?
A. No, a company either achieves APEx status, or doesn’t. Each company must earn 100 points annually through a variety of requirements. Points are earned differently depending on the company size (see requirements chart).
Q. My company doesn’t currently use AVIXA’s standards. Do we have to buy them?
A. AVIXA members can download standards free of charge from their member dashboard on the AVIXA.org website.
If you feel you need more explanation than the standard contains, you may benefit from purchasing the accompanying guide to standard, which is available at AVIXA.org/store. Members receive discounted pricing on standards guides. Non-member companies are not eligible for AVIXA APEx status.
Q. How does the customer survey program work?
A. Once you have met program requirements, AVIXA will provide you a customized company link for your customers to complete about your firm’s work. You will need the required number of positive surveys based on your company size requirements (see requirements chart). All surveys, their associated responses, evaluation, and information is conducted through a third-party organization. AVIXA does not receive any of your customer’s information, or individual responses. Our independent survey company only sends us a report on the number of positive surveys submitted from your customers.
Q. My company invests in a certification program that is not on the APEx eligibility list. Can it be added?
A. Certifications with renewal requirements can be considered. Please contact APEx@avixa.org for more information.
