After a chat with Carlos Andrés Pérez, Project Manager at SEEL, it’s clear what this young Colombian engineer is passionate about — the satisfaction of his clients.
Graduating from Universidad Distrital de Colombia with a degree in Electronic Engineering, Andrés found his first job at SEEL S.A., a well-established AV integration company in Bogotá with over 40 years of service. Since starting out, he has known how to make the most of the opportunities given to him, to get better prepared technically, and earn a place among the top professionals in the company.
As part of his professional development, he has taken several courses on Network Managing, a diploma program on Project Management, and he recently earned his Certified Technology Specialist™ (CTS®) certification from the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, AVIXA™.
“In my opinion, AV integration companies must hire certified personnel to comply with certain standards and industry guidelines so that they can give more confidence to their clients,” said Andrés. “A company with certified CTS technicians is ready to handle any project, to meet any requirement by the customer, and leave them fully satisfied with the final result,” he added.
One of the most recent projects in which he participated, was the magnificent Cinemateca Distrital in Bogotá, a complex of over 90,000 sq. ft. dedicated to cinema and audiovisual disciplines. There, the SEEL team integrated a series of tech solutions, with hundreds of products by different manufacturers in areas ranging from screening rooms to digital laboratories and interactive classrooms.
“It was a beautiful project, not only because of the tech solutions but because of the cultural contribution that was made for the city. I’m excited to see the way that people have received and embraced the Cinemateca. To know that not only do the advances perform well, but to represent a legacy for Bogotá is extremely gratifying,” said Andrés.
This kind of project motivates Andrés, who doesn’t settle for just a CTS, he has his sights on achieving the CTS-D which concentrates on Design. “I agree with AVIXA’s professional mission. I think it’s paramount that every industry member reaches a high professionalization level,” explains Andrés. “Even if certification is a personal achievement that makes me happy, I’m convinced that the most important thing is that my clients know there are people and companies with the knowledge to do things right, the best way, and within a set budget. Our industry should commit to that,” concludes Carlos Andrés.
