This webinar introduces AV and IT concepts that are fundamental in the design, deployment, and operation of AV over IP solutions.

AV over IP is becoming a widespread technology as networks continue to converge in the enterprise, in smart/connected buildings, and in commercial spaces. Demand is increasing for multicast and multipoint-to-multipoint AV distribution over ever-increasing distances, as well as streaming and remote control.

The increase in deployment of 10G networks, coupled with the cost reduction per port, the market push of manufacturers with switches designed for AV over IP, and the development of low latency, visually lossless compression has resulted in increased deployment of the solution.

These types of projects have led to frequent interactions between AV, IT, and facilities professionals and have highlighted the need for cross-training in AV and IT technologies.

Join the May Power Hour to learn how to:

  • Identify characteristics of a digital AV signal that impact transport over a network.
  • Use basic IT concepts required to understand the transport of AV signals on a network.
  • Understand characteristics of switches for AV over IP.
  • Apply useful audio and video codecs.
  • Transport protocols.
  • Understand the AV over IP triangle.
  • Apply common AV over IP deployments.
