AVIXA presented this DSO round table focusing on customer experience and the opportunity for signage in the retail market now and beyond.

Owen Ellis (DSO), Jenny Hicks (Midwich Group), Harry Horn (Scala), and DSO board member Leif Liljebrunn explored how well-managed customer signage is more reliable than human presence and provides a better customer experience.

Owen’s career in AV started in 1984 and he has worked in a variety of roles from live events through project delivery at systems integrators that include Metro Group & Electrosonic. He also served for 17 years as a corporate enterprise end user in the Multimedia team at Morgan Stanley Investment Bank. 
Owen has been Chairman of the AV User Group since 2010 and Vice President and Board member of the DSO since 2018.

Jenny joined the technology industry thirteen years ago, holding roles from purchasing to sales, technical support and market development.  Jenny really developed a fascination with visual technology and was spurred to challenge her technical ability.
In 2012 Jenny joined Midwich's technical division as an IP Video Specialist responsible for sales and technical support where she was able to further her knowledge, joining a group of specialists actively easing the ever-converging worlds of AV and IT. In 2013 Jenny progressed to UK Technology Manager, responsible for all technical brands and market development and managing the technology specialists and tech support teams.
Today as Head of Technology for Midwich Group Jenny explores new technology ventures for Midwich globally, provides market analysis, acquisition rationale and central support to all group companies.  Jenny serves on the Advisory and Trends board for Avixa, has recently served as a judge for the AV experience awards and is a regular public speaker at industry events. 
Harry Horn

Harry Horn
Harry has been in various Marketing Management positions at Scala Inc. After the acquisition of Scala by STRATACACHE, Harry has led the transformation of the marketing organizations of both companies into a new structure serving the STRATACACHE family of brands as Vice President Marketing Global. As of 2016 Harry in addition took on the role of General Manager EMEA for Scala with full P&L responsibility and in that role he is managing all sales, services, support and logistics elements for the region.

Leif Liljebrunn

Leif Liljebrunn
Leif has worked to build businesses in a variety of industries for many years ranging from software companies to the furniture industry, both as an employee and as owner of the companies. His roles have varied but mainly focus on Sales & Marketing although he has served as Vice President and CEO in listed and privately owned companies. He has always been committed to the challenges he’s faced, and his goal is to professionalize the industry.

Jens Nordfält

Jens Nordfält
Jens Nordfält is Professor of Management Studies at the University of Bath. Jens has received awards both for his academic work as well as for his achievements in bridging the gap between industry and academia. Jens has written several books and book chapters on retailing, shopper marketing, consumer psychology, and in-store marketing, and published several articles in a-journals. Jens is very active in the retail industry as a speaker, researcher, and board member.
