Blog-Post
As part of our ongoing support of the live events industry, AVIXA recently joined the Meetings Mean Business Coalition, also a part of the U.S. Travel Association. The coalition advocates for the value that business meetings, trade shows, incentive travel, exhibitions, conferences and conventions bring to people, businesses and communities. Throughout the recent national shutdown, the U.S. Travel Association has been advocating relief for airlines, hotels, and other associated business; but what you might not know is that part of the relief package now includes a focus on business meetings and events. Today, as part of our new partnership with Meetings Mean Business, we are now part of the daily conversation that ensures business meetings and events are represented in efforts to enact relief packages through the U.S. Congress.
Take part today:
- Complete the action alerts initiative form and let your members of Congress know the devastation that the COVID-19 outbreak is having on events and, hence, your business. This will underscore why Congress must take immediate action to provide much-needed relief during this difficult time.
- Write a letter to your members in Congress and the editor of your local/national paper (Check the Opinion section of the paper for specific details). Here is a sample copy you can use.
- Use social media to post your letter and tag your member of Congress.
- Want to know who your members of Congress are? Check here
We hope that you will continue to share your voice; and while we know this is a difficult time for all, we will continue to stand with you and with each of our members.
