Diversity Council Spotlight - George V. Fournier

George V. Fournier | AVIXA

The AVIXA Diversity council spotlights the incessant guide, George V. Fournier!

At 14, George volunteered for a local cable TV channel as an artist painting in oils hoping to get into special effects work. He went onto Center for Media Arts Inc. for video production and then worked in AV staging/rental for hospitality to soon found his niche in tech support/design for FSR Inc.

Further educating himself in AutoCAD/Drafting school, he worked as a CAD engineer for some years, later returning to FSR as a Senior Sales Engineer. In 2019, as dancker’s Design Engineer, he teamed Dancker up with Integrate Baltimore to hold a fundraiser to expose young people of color to AV and get them to InfoComm.

Involved with the AVIXA Foundation, the Manufacturers Council, Women’s Council, Diversity Council, and now Chairperson of the Systems Integrators Council, George continues his advocacy to break down barriers and create a environment where everyone gets opportunity. He founded AV Gives Back to help others help others. Psst...Did you also know he was a volunteer firefighter since 1985?

George believes, "Diversity is not just the Diversity Council’s issue, it's everyone's' issue". Amen & Thank You for your work in AV and the community!
