FAIRFAX, VA – Nov. 29, 2018 –  AVIXA™, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, is returning to OEB Global (Berlin, Dec. 5-7, 2018) for a second successive year to present a panel discussion featuring audiovisual thought leaders from across higher education.

Representatives from City, University of London; the University of Copenhagen; and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), will join AVIXA for a discussion titled “Transforming Education with Audiovisual Technology to Create Dynamic, Collaborative Learning Spaces.” The session takes place Thurs., Dec. 6

Chaired by Brad Grimes, Senior Director of Communications for AVIXA, the session will explore how incorporating audiovisual and interactive systems in learning-space design creates student-focused, immersive environments. Panelists will offer real-world case studies.

“We have a great panel of individuals, bringing a wealth of audiovisual experience from some of Europe’s flagship universities,” Grimes said. "Technology is changing the form and function of learning spaces, and audiovisual solutions are key to achieving the outcomes that faculty and students require. We have great projects to discuss, and we hope to inspire others in higher education and learning.”

Grimes will be joined by Sheila Egan, the Learning Spaces Project Lead at City, University of London. Egan is currently working with colleagues in IT and property and facilities on the institution’s cross-departmental Designing Active Learning Initiative (DALI), which aims to update all of City’s 200-plus learning spaces over a period of six years. Also on the panel will be Fredrik Haugdal, representing NTNU, the largest university in Norway, with approximately 40,000 students in three cities. Haugdal is part of the AV Systems Design Team that looks after almost 700 educational spaces. Rounding out the group are Anders Jørgensen, project leader at Stouenbourg, a Danish systems integrator responsible for the AV installation at the 15-story Mærsk Tower at the University of Copenhagen, and Jan Bærentsen, Technical Manager at the University of Copenhagen, who will provide the user perspective on this award-winning project.
