InfoComm Partners With COMM-TEC to Offer Pro-AV Training in Germany

AMSTERDAM — 10 February 2016 — At Integrated Systems Europe 2016, InfoComm International®, the trade association representing the commercial audiovisual industry worldwide, announced plans to partner with COMM-TEC to increase the number of trained and tested AV professionals throughout German-speaking Europe.

Based in Germany, COMM-TEC distributes AV products. Through its partnership with InfoComm, COMM-TEC will incorporate InfoComm training courses into its COMM-TEC Academy. This will include prep courses for the InfoComm-Recognized AV Technologist Test (RAVT). After they have completed the COMM-TEC Academy program, students will have the opportunity to take the RAVT, which will be administered by InfoComm at COMM-TEC headquarters in Uhingen, Germany.

"This educational partnership with InfoComm will be a huge benefit to the AV industry in Germany," said Carsten Steinecker, Managing Director, COMM-TEC. "Product specifiers are continuously aiming to increase the quality of installation services which has led to an increased importance set on certifications. This access to training will allow AV professionals in the region to elevate their skills."

InfoComm is experiencing significant membership growth in Europe — about 17 percent year over year. To support the growing AV market in Europe, InfoComm has invested heavily in its European presence the last 10 years, with offices in London and Munich and a team dedicated to the region. InfoComm is focused on growing the number of translated resources, supporting industry events and building strategic partnerships in order to extend its reach in Europe.

"The value of certification is becoming increasingly more important in the AV industry as technology becomes more sophisticated," said Pamela Taggart, CTS®, Senior Director of Development for Europe, InfoComm International. "We're excited to partner with COMM-TEC to incorporate InfoComm training into their educational program in Germany. When the entire industry adopts universal best practices and standards, we're able to work more effectively together on a global scale."
