The Middle East’s audiovisual market to experience record growth through 2016. InfoComm MEA will foster growing business ties in support of innovation for the region’s megaprojects.

FAIRFAX, VA, and DUBAI, UAE — October 30, 2015 — Responding to strong growth in the region’s audiovisual technology market, InfoComm Middle East & Africa show organizers announced that the event, recently held Oct. 18-21, 2015, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, will become a standalone show in 2016. In past years, InfoComm MEA has been co-located with GITEX Technology Week.

"The Middle East and Africa are early adopters of audiovisual technology, and InfoComm MEA will be a standalone show in 2016 to foster growing audiovisual business ties in the region. The event aims to capture the full attention of visitors, and as a result, exhibitors will be able to spend more quality time with visitors and attract more end users," said Richard Tan, Executive Director, InfoCommAsia.

The Middle East's audiovisual market is poised to reach US $2.76 billion by 2016, up 76 percent from 2012, driven by regional megaprojects and increasing demand for screens, audio, lighting, and control systems in the area’s increasingly smart cities, as well as continued technology adoption in hospitality, retail, transportation, and entertainment sectors.

InfoComm MEA 2016, the region’s leading audiovisual event, will be held Dec. 6-8, 2016, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. InfoComm MEA 2016 will continue to be organized jointly by InfoCommAsia and the Dubai World Trade Centre, and promoted with the deep involvement and support from the GITEX Technology Week marketing team.

For the first time, the Digital Signage Summit MENA will be co-located at InfoComm MEA, bringing a stronger focus on digital signage applications in retail, hospitality, transportation, and digital-out-of-home networks. Organized by Invidis Consulting, the Digital Signage Summit is set to deliver an increased number of attendees and media to InfoComm MEA.

The recently completed InfoComm MEA 2015, held under the theme of "Digital Interconnect for Peak Performance," hosted exhibits by more than 200 manufacturers and suppliers from 30 countries, up from 184 companies in 2014. The total number of visitors to InfoComm MEA 2015 increased 3 percent, to 14,659.

"This is the first time that we were participating at InfoComm MEA and it was a great event to connect with current partners,” said Sarah Cox, Regional Sales Manager, EMEA, d3 Technologies Ltd. ”The quality of visitors was very good, and we have also met with new potential partners. We look to come back again next year to build and expand on this year’s result."

RMG Networks, which had participated in GITEX Technology Week for the past four years, made the switch to InfoComm MEA 2015 — a move the company termed a "great decision."

"It had a very focused group of high-quality visitors and we were kept very busy," said Joe Rabah, Managing Director, RMG Networks.
