Networking Technology for AV Professionals

AVIXA® has put together a course to guide you through the basic concepts of networking technology, to help you understand how a network works, how is it designed, the role of each component in the network and how to keep it secure, all from the point of view of an AV professional interested in using the network for AV transport. 

What is CTS 2?

AVIXA has recently reviewed and revised the content of its CTS® exam preparation courses. This included a renaming allow for easier identification as part of AVIXA's new CTS Prep Pathway.. 

CTS 1: AV Technology
This course establishes the foundational knowledge required for aspiring AV professionals, covering essential concepts and skills and start them on their journey to CTS certification. This course is a further development of Essentials of AV Technology.

CTS 2: Applied AV and AV Project Process
This courses delves into advanced AV topics, providing students with a deeper understanding of industry-specific content and continue learners on their path to CTS cert. This course is a further development of CTS Prep.

Instructors

Per Mouritzen

Per Mouritzen

Per has more than 30 years of experience in the AV industry. Before entering the AV Industry, he was educated as a Radio and Television technician. He has worked in many different roles, like technology manager, technician, consultant, AV-Specialist.
Per was the lead AV-technology manager at Aalborg University for almost 19 years, where he also took his Master in ICT and learning. And holds both AVIXA CTS-D and CTS-I certification, he had participated in several AVIXA webinars and roundtables
Per is an AV instructor/trainer at EUC Nord in Denmark, which is a 3.5-year AV education.

Graeme Scott

Graeme Scott

Prior to joining the world of AV with HARMAN, Graeme served in the British Army in a communications environment, covering RF, Digital and large scalable networks.
He began his AV Career with HARMAN in 2005 and has been in roles such as Customer Service, Technical Sales, where he was responsible for customer design specifications, trade shows and exhibitions, moving into the training role in 2014.
A firm believer in education and certification he has held CTS Certification since 2007.

 

 

Stuart Willcocks

Stuart Willcocks

Stuart is the Technical Lead for Google's AV Product Engineering team. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, a Master’s degree in Network Engineering, and both AVIXA CTS-D and CTS-I certifications. He is a Chartered Engineer and a member of the IET.
Stuart's career in the AV industry began thirty five years ago. He originally trained as a lighting designer and sound engineer, enjoying several years working in theatre and live events. Later he joined the BBC, working on a variety of broadcast infrastructure projects. This was followed by ten years designing and building audio-visual and interactive experiences for museums and exhibitions around the world. Prior to joining Google, he was responsible for running a cutting-edge event space for use by partners of the McLaren F1 team.
